Backing Up SQL in callmanager and unity

Is there is information on best practices backing up SQL in callamager 4.1.3 servers and unity 4.0.3. I would like to know what does Cisco suggest and support.

the way to backup CCM is using BARS and for unity we recommend DIRT.

we do not support just backing up SQL using just SQL tools

thanks java. my sql admin wants these tables backed up with the other databases using there system. Is it safe to say this is not supported by cisco.

Re: Backing Up SQL in callmanager and unity

if you plan to use this info to restore a CUCM server the answer is no, if you want it just to pull information or for internal processes you have, not related to manipulating the data from the CCM SQL server directly, you can do it.

usually the only DB that is backed up directly for historical purposes is CDR so the 3rd party apps can still have access to info that CCM might delete because of DB thresholds
