I have recently got problems with my cisco 7961G IP phone the display will became blank for 2 to 3 seconds or will not respond when handset is lift up after a incoming call. My phone is connected to a cisco 3700 series switch with connects to a 2651 router then went onto WAN to datacenter which the 2 call manager resides. We have configured a dedicated bandwith for SCCP on both the WAN link and LAN but the problem still prestists. Please advice what more can I do to solve this.
On my case I found out that the network utilization of my work place were not enough so when the network got spiked the phones whould have blank screens due to the reason that the phones were not able to commuicate with the Call Manager. This only happens when a large group of user were accessing video streaming, viewing photos or sent to a huge print job. I would advice that you check that the neetwork link between your Call Manager and you gateway is enough. Hope this helps.
