Bulk Line Update in CCM 5.1.3

Hello,

I need to bulk change:

- Description -> PHONE

- Description -> LINE

- Alerting Name -> LINE

- ASCII Alerting Name -> LINE

- Display(Internal Caller ID) -> LINE

- ASCII Display(Internal Caller ID) -> LINE

- Line Text Label -> LINE

- ASCII Line Text Label -> LINE

What is the best feasible way?

(thinking about export, delete, import...)

most of what you're asking (possibly all) is not something you can do with the update option from BAT.

The way to do it would be export all data, modify and reimport

Hi Met,

That is correct, the easiest way for you to accomplish this task will be to export >> Modify >> delete >> import.

Just remember to disable auto-registration, otherwise, the devices will register to CCM after deleted.

ok, just to be sure...i have to DELETE!...i cant just export, modify,import and update without delete..right?

you need to export, modify, delete, reimport

if the phones are already in the system BAT won't let you insert them. it's the same as if you try to add a phone manually and the phone is already on the system.

i want to modify one attribute from all the phones and various attributes from lines: is the same procedure for phones and lines then.

(delete about 1000 phones isnt confortable...)

when you export the phones using the All details options, as it says ALL will be exported, phone, line, speed dials, etc

so all you need to do is modify the csv and then reimport it.

u can export some phones and practice with them before doing the 1000 phones
