This router provides CME and CUE. Is there a another 1861 router that does not have CUE but all the C1861-UC-4FXO-K9 feature. I do not need router with SRST for now.

Thanks.

No, there's no such router. I believe you are looking for a router that can be a voice gateway, but you don't need a CME/SRST or CUE feature. The lowest-end router that you could get close to what you want is a 1751, 1751-V, or 1760 router. These routers do just what you would want. They do not support CUE, and the DSPs used in them are an older type C549 (PVDM-256K-X). This means that DSP resources are configured a little differently from C5510s. It also means lower DSP density (fewer calls can be processed per DSP). The positive part is that these routers are EoS, so you can get parts for it cheaper. For instance, DSPs should be readily available on the grey market. Another thing you need to consider is that Cisco is now migrating to a common platform numbering system with their voice products, which is 7.0. A few days ago, CME 4.3 was renamed CUCME 7.0. The 1751, 1751-V, and 1760 routers will not go above IOS 12.4(15)T with additional maintenance releases (they are currently at 12.4(15)T5). The 12.4(15)T release contains CME 4.1. There may be a CME 4.2 available in a different train, but there will be no CME 7.0 or higher support on this platform. On the other hand, you will be just fine with CME 4.1.

Another thing is 1700 series router is now End of Sale.

Thanks for the info.

Do you know any good voice gateway that will route PSTN phone calls through their computers? And the computer users should be able to receive and place calls through the voice gateway. The client is looking for on average 5 PSTN incoming calls and 1 PSTN outgoing calls. Cisco 1861 with CME and CUE is quite expensive to that client.

Thanks.
