Hi All !
I have a problem , I am trying for the Gateways & Gatekeepers exam.
My problem is that there are 2 different answers to my question in the Cisco Press Book.
It is about controlling the bandwidth needed for calls
say a call would need 64k (ignore headers and other stuff for now)
should I configure double the bandwidth for a session ?ie
bandwidth session zone localcall 128
or leave it at 64k
then there is the interzone.....
do I also need to double the bandwidth there too per allowed call ? ie
bandwidth interzone zone localcall 256
for 2 allowed calls ?

Hi,
up to my knowledge you always need to double the bandwidth when configuring GK.
let's say you have one call G711=80k
in the config:
bandwidth session zone localcall 160
or
bandwidth interzone zone localcall 160
Good luck with your exam

Bandwidth requirement also depends on the payload size.

Yes I know that , I am just looking for clarification to what "value" the above commands should have.

Hi
if its G.711 then it shud be 80 Kbps per call sof ro 2 calls it shud be 160 Kbps
For G.729 it takes 24Kbps so for 2 calls it shud be 48 Kbps
Hpe this helps
