Call Detail Records on CUCM 4.2(3)

Hi,

 

I am doing my Final year Project on a Call Detail Records Statistics Web Dashboard, for this I have to access the CUCM CDR database through LAN.

 

The project consists of getting real time changes from the CallDetailRecord table to an other database. What are the Norms or Best Practices to access the Publisher CDR Database ? Is it OK to directly connect with the SA username to the SQL Server from java code; Or do I have to host a Web Service on the publisher and get real time changes through SOAP messages? I tried with SFTP but it isn't taken in consideration by the 4.2 version of CM.

 

Here is a small descriptive of the actual system components :

*Voice Gateway Cisco Series 2800 Router with an ISDN line connected to a E1 VWIC card.

*CUCM 4.2(3) with CDR running on a Cisco Windows 2000 Server SP4 Machine
