Hi!

Need your help to solve a problem.

If I make a call from IP-phone1 to IP-phone2 and IP-phone2 is busy, I have the message "Busy" on IP-phone1 display (and it is correctly). But if I make a call from IP-Phone to PSTN analog phone and analog phone is busy, I have the message "Call proceed" on IP-phone display.

I use non-IOS MGCP Gateway for making call to PSTN.

Please help me to solve this problem.

Which of these products?

Cisco DT-24+ Gateway

Cisco DE-30+ Gateway

Cisco Catalyst 66608 T1|E1 VoIP Gateway

Which CCM version?

Could you please:

Turn on detailed ccm trace at the CallManager

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a0080094e89.shtml

Then reproduce the above issue,

Send me all the outputs and specify the calling party, called party and time.

Let us know

I have 7 Cisco Catalyst 6000 E1 VoIP Gateways

with PRI Euro Protocol Type. IP IP Addreses of gateways 10.10.70.71 - 10.10.70.77.

CallManager version: 4.1(3) sr2.

I make a call (time is 09:56) from IP-phone1 (560000 number) to IP-phone2 (560650 number) and IP-phone2 is busy, I have the message "Busy" on IP-phone1 display. And when I make a call from IP-Phone(560000 number) to PSTN analog phone (523199 number) and analog phone is busy, I have the message "Call proceed" on IP-phone display.

Thanks In Advance for help.

p.s. sorry for my english

Dear gogasca, I send you all the outputs and specify the calling party, called party and time.

Can you help me with this problem ?

HI, i know the issue you describe, but i only know how to fix it in h323 gateways. The issue is, that you are getting a disconnect message with an progress indicator.

on a h323 gw you can fix this by entering voice call convert-discpi-to-prog.

I'm unfortunately absolutely unfamiliar with the 6608, so the only thing i fo?nd int the documentation which might fix your issue is the parameter described here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_configuration_example09186a00801152b9.shtml#creating_catalyst_gtway_callmanager4.x

search for "Setup non-ISDN Progress Indicator IE Enable"

From the documentation:

"Enable this setting only if users do not receive ringback tones on outbound calls.

When this setting is enabled, the Cisco CallManager sends Q.931 SETUP messages out digital (that is, non-H.323) gateways with the Progress Indicator field set to non-ISDN.

This message notifies the destination device that the Cisco CallManager gateway is non-ISDN and that the destination device should play in-band ringback."

SO my understanding would be, that if you turn on this parameter, you should get inband progress tones and users should get a busy signal played

This problem usually associates with Cisco CallManagers that connect to PBXs through digital gateways.

The line:

-- Progress Ind i = 0x085088 - In-band info or appropriate now available

indicates that the BusyTone would be inband, ie provided by the remote end (Telco).

If we receive a Disconnect with PI, we are not supposed to generate any busy tone.

PI = INBAND information = provided by the far end.

Callmanager is following specs and acts as it should when receiving a Disconnect with PI

Get in contact with Telco to verify if they provide INBAND busy tone, if not the Progress Indicator should be removed from Disconnnect.

What we can try to inform the PSTN that we are not fully ISDN by sending a PI in the setup message as balbler states.

To send PI=3 you can set the checkbox labeled "Setup non-ISDN Progress Indicator IE Enable" on the MGCP gateway config page in CallManager
