Call Transfer on CCME (Incoming SIP to internal)

Hi all,

I have a CCME(C2800NM-SPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(9)T1 with Version=4.0(0).

The CallManager Express is connected with the SIP-Provider.

SIP inbound and oubound calls are working well. The problem is that I'm not able to transfer (internal/external) or park an incoming SIP call (when it's picked up on the IP-phone).

Here the partial config:

Re: Call Transfer on CCME (Incoming SIP to internal)

Hi Norbert,

I've just tried transferring an incoming SIP call from one extension to another and worked fine.

I'm using CME 4.1 and I've not even configured a dial-peer for the incoming SIP, just calling from a softphone.

So I'm unable to tell you if it is a configuration issue or what, but it works for me.

Only, pls check that all phones involved are configured for dual-line.

Re: Call Transfer on CCME (Incoming SIP to internal)

Hi Norbert,

The problem is that prior to CME 4.1, whenever a call if forwarded or transferred, the CME sends a SIP 302 - Moved temporarily message back to the SIP provider. When the provider got this message, it didn't know how to route to the new number because the SIP provider was statically provisioned. Here are 2 options:

(1) Upgrade to CME 4.1. With this new code, the CME does not send SIP 302 message and locally transfers the call

(2) If you wish to stay on 12.4(9)T - CME 4.0, then you need to configure an inbound dial-peer and add the following command:

service session

This will cause the CME to locally transfer/handle the call.

Hope this helps,

Tony

Re: Call Transfer on CCME (Incoming SIP to internal)

Thanks all for the reply.

For information, if I do a "call forward all" on the IP-Phone it works (internal and external).

I had the "302-Moved temporarly" problem and it was solved by the second SIP dial-peer.

@Tony

Which kind of inbound dial-peer do you mean?

Thanks again,

Norbert

Re: Call Transfer on CCME (Incoming SIP to internal)

Hi Tony,

I'm having exactly the same problem here. I've been waiting for the CME 4.1 release for months, now it's here :-)) and I'd love to get this working.

I still have the "service session" command in the dial-peers, and I'm unable to remove it ("no service session" is not recognized?). Anyway, the symptoms are that if I try to transfer a call coming from the outside (SIP dial-peer) to another inside or outside number (through another SIP dial-peer or to an SCCP phone), whenever I push "transfer" both calls are just placed on-hold (I see the "pause" icon on the phone, a 7961) and nothing happens.

I have also enabled the following commands:

no supplementary-service sip moved-temporarily

no supplementary-service sip refer

(because the ISP - as in ourselves - don't support those SIP commands).

How can this be solved?

Thank you

Re: Call Transfer on CCME (Incoming SIP to internal)

OK, I'm replying to myself here - I had to remove and re-add the dial-peers without the "service session" command. Now transferring and forwarding works correctly. Thanks for this new release!

Re: Call Transfer on CCME (Incoming SIP to internal)

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay.

Transfer is now working without "service session" on the dial-peer and the following entries (CME 4.1):

no supplementary-service sip moved-temporarily

no supplementary-service sip refer

Thanks all for the help.

Greets,

Norbert
