You are sending a name:

Display i = 'Arc Operator 1'

But as mentioned before, it is rightly ignored by telco.

Hi,

Probably even if you send a name to PSTN, it will not make any difference. The reason is because you could impersonate a third party, or use an offensive name, so telco just ignores names.

However, the command to do so, is: "isdn outgoing ie display".

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

thank you for your help!

but i alrealdy did that command:

This is my config

interface Serial0/0/0:23

isdn switch-type primary-ni

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn supp-service name calling

isdn outgoing display-ie

That makes the name to go out as display IE:

Dec 17 17:57:45.574 CET: ISDN BR0/0/1 Q931: TX -> SETUP pd = 8 callref = 0x42

Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A3

Standard = CCITT

Transfer Capability = Speech

Transfer Mode = Circuit

Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s

Channel ID i = 0x89

Exclusive, B1

Progress Ind i = 0x8183 - Origination address is non-ISDN

Display i = 'P. Bevilacqua'

Calling Party Number i = 0x0080, '28'

Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown

Called Party Number i = 0x80, '187'

Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown

Sending Complete

Then as mentioned before, when connecting to PSTN, it won't make any difference if you send a name or not.

yes let me see what name it is send it

you a debug isdn q931 to have that result ?

Yes. Alway have debug isdn q931 when doing isdn things.

THE TELCO IS BLOCKING MY CALLER ID NAME?

You are sending a name:

Display i = 'Arc Operator 1'

But as mentioned before, it is rightly ignored by telco.

OK, I UNDERSTAND, IF TELCO IGNORED MY CALLER id

HOW COMES I CANNOT SEE IT ON REMOTE PHONE UNDER A PSTN NETWORK?

Hi, this is exactly because telco ignores your caller name, so you do not see on a remote phone.

Imagine if anyone was allowed to send profanities as a name, would you like that ?

Telco network is not a chatline where you can choose name as you better like :)

BUT I CALLED TELCO AND THEY TOLD ME THAT HE IS NOT BLOCKING ANYTHING .. ..:( I WILL CALL THEM TO TROUBLESHOOT THAT ISSUE WITH THEM .. Thanks

by the you are ccie the exam was difficult?

Hi, telco will always reply "we do not block anything" to avoid discussions -- even if they don't even understand the question.

And yes, the CCIE exam is very difficult.

Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!
