Calling Search Space edit or translation pattern insert??

Ok...I am far from an expert at Call manager so this may seem like a silly question but I have been asked by a client to "Update their calling search spaces to incorporate 077XX mobile numbers".... now, from that... I am assuming that they want to be able to call numbers beginning with 077.. I have never updated a calling search space before but I am sure that this particular issue is resolved by inserting a translation pattern for their site which enables them to be able to dial that number? So has the client used the wrong terminology? Or am I wrong... and in what instance would I edit a CSS?

Re: Calling Search Space edit or translation pattern insert??

If your client is attempting to dial 077XX numbers, then a 'route pattern' would be required.

The calling search space will not be altered unless you created a route pattern in a partition that needed to be added to a CSS.

If you create the route pattern in an existing partition that already belongs to the approriate CSS(s), then you will not have to alter/change any css; just create the route pattern, assign to the proper partition, assign proper RL/gateway and test.

A translation pattern could be used if the client wants to dial a certain number and it needs to be translated to another number before being sent out of call manager.

Re: Calling Search Space edit or translation pattern insert??

Sorted.

I managed to work it out for myself by fumbling about in CM but what you have typed out there is correct... I just looked at an existing CSS and worked my way backwards from how that was all set out!!

Thanks for the response though!!
