We have a test system of CUCM 8.6. The 8945 registers with the CallManager using settings from the dhcp scope configured on the router for the voice vlan. The pc port on the 8945 is connected to a non-managed workgroup switch. A 7960 phone is connected to that switch, using a power brick. The 7960 will not register with the CallManager.
If I swap in another 7960 for the 8945, both 7960 phones will register to the CallManager without delay. With the 8945, I have "enabled the pc port" and "span to pc port". Is this type of funtionality unavailable in the 8945 or is some other configuration required?
Thanks for your response. This is something we have used successfully in the past when faced with port limitations. I am wondering if there a security setting that is unique to the 8945 that can be configured to allow this funtionalilty.
