Run "debug voice dialpeer"

Re: Cannot dial : area code getting stripped off when dialing ou

most probably you have your dial-peer with the 1st digits as exact match and they got stripped. that's working as designed, you need to configure how many digits you want to send if not doing it with the digits on the destination-pattern.

i'd recommend you to go thru the dial-peer configuration guides to get some more insight but let's put it this way

if i have

dial-peer voice 1 pots

destination pattern 123.......

and i dial 1234567890 i will only send NON-EXACT matches = 4567890
