Cannot leave voicemail to the remote cluster via gatekeeper

I have two sites conneted via a gatekeeper:

Site A:

CME router A with CUE module (also function as GK)

Extensions: 2XXX

Voicemail pilot: 2000

Site B:

CME router B with CUE module

Extensions: 3XXX

Voicemail pilot: 1000

There are no problem of 4-digit dialing between site A & site B via gatekeeper. However, when site A user calls site B user, they can't reach the voicemail system.

Here is the output of "debug gatekeeper main 5":

I can't get the voicemail pilot number 1000 registered as an E.164 number on the gateway since it's not an extension.

Any advise for this issue?

Thanks.

Cannot leave voicemail to the remote cluster via gatekeeper

Hi Amy,

My name is Edson Pineiro, I understand that call forward to voice mail fails when the call traverses a gatekeeper.

To confirm and understand the root cause I require further logs (ccsip, ccapi, h245, h225, q931, RAS, main 10, and some show outputs), however to answer your last question with regards to registering the voice mail pilot number (e164: 1000), suggest you add the endpoint as a static node under the gatekeeper. Reason being is endpoints that don not support RAS (CUE) will not register for the obvious reason (SIP), however the gatekeeper registration table can be updated manually using a static alias.

For further details regarding the static node configuration please review the following document:

Cisco IOS Voice, Video, and Fax Configuration Guide, Release 12.2

Configuring H.323 Gatekeepers

Configuring Static Nodes:

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you

&

Regards

Edson Pineiro
