ccm failure

just to make sure,

when a call is running between two registered IP phones with a primary callmanager, and during this call the primary ccm fails, and a secondary ccm immediately handles the role it is known that the rtp stream between the two end points still available, but if one of the two endpoints wants to let's say transfer, forward, hold, .... can this endpoint acheive these features by the new transparent reregistration with the seconday ccm?

in other words, can the secondary ccm handle all these issues?

thanks

You won't be able to do this until the phones are registered to the backup server. When the primary fails the call won't be dropped since the connection is directly from IP Phone to IP Phone (the CCM server is not part of the call when they are connected) but you won't be able to make transfers, holds, etc. until the phones hang up the call and register to the backup server. Changes to the Database like in the case of Forward will not be possible if the primary server (Publisher) is down.

thanks a lot,

but here is a question:

suppose that the primary failure lasts for 10 min and during thus time the IP phones register with the secondary backup, what is exactly the functionality that the backup can perform for the ip phones during this role.

because u said that ((Changes to the Database like in the case of Forward will not be possible if the primary server (Publisher) is down.))

thanks
