CFA not being seen by incoming call and ringing on handset!!

Ok, I have a call manager translation pattern (8560) that is set to ring on extension (8561) which has a shared line (8549) so that when a call comes in.... it rings on both handsets.

They want to be able to CFA from the handsets but when they put the CFA in, and you call the main number (translation pattern 8560) it does not see the forward and insists on ringing at the handset!!

How can I make it so that the CFA is recognised when the translation pattern 8560 is called? Does that make sense?

It is call manager 4.1.2

Thanks in advance...

Hey Kid,

Yes, it has been awhile, hopefully life is treating you well!

The easiest thing to do would be to move 8560 (or whatever it translates to) to Line 1. You could also try out this App that allows CALLFWDALL from secondary lines;

IPPhone callForwarder

This new version brings to the user the ability of defining and setting the call forwards from the IP Phone. When selecting the IP Phone callForwarder service, a menu with all available lines will appear. After selecting the line the user wishes to set the forward on, a new menu containing the forward definitions will show on screen. Only those forwarding parameters definied by the Administrator will be displayed. These parameters will show the actual forward destination. The user can then set any of these callForwards.

Hope this helps!

Is the Translation a Hunt Pilot? if so then it will ignore any CF on the handsets

Re: CFA not being seen by incoming call and ringing on handset!!

JAVALENCE - It is a shared line as the user wants to be able to see the call coming in on both lines. They are both exts logged into seperate handsets and he wants them both to ring when the main number 8560 is rung.

No, we have just got the 2 lines represented on both of the handsets so that you can see when the other is on a call or when a call comes in, they both ring.

IPTUSER55 - It is a translation pattern, not a hunt pilot.

Make more sense now?

Hi Kid,

Is DN 8561 the Prime line (Button 1) on the IP Phone which is setting up the CFWDALL? Remember CFWDALL only works with the Prime Line :)

Just a thought,

Re: CFA not being seen by incoming call and ringing on handset!!

Hey Rob, long time..

Line 1 on ext 8561 is 8561 and the secondary line is 8560 (the main number)

How are we able to manipulate the calls coming in from 8560 then? Is there a way around this?

The client wants to be able to simply press the CFA buttn from the handset and forward the calls!
