Changing CUCM server capacity on UCS

Hello,

If I have a CUCM 8.6 cluster on UCS that was built using the 2,500 user OVA template is it possible to change the server capacity/processing power to that of a server built using the 7,500 user OVA template by just modifying the vCPU, memory and disk space using the vSphere client or would I need to back it up using DRS, build a new server with the 7,500 user template, then do a restore?

Thanks

CPU & Memory are easy to change. The problem's always been disc size. But I've just discovered this on support.cisco.com:

I belive this will only work and be supported with CUCM 10.0 and on.  For previous versions the only solution is still to backup with DRS, deploy new OVA and install CUCM and restore from the DRS.

Chris,

I am not sure your assessment is accurate. I looked through the document and my understanding is that Cisco is providing a COP to allow users to expand the disk space for UCM 9.1 and earlier.

I guess I should have read the doc :-)

For some reason I remembered this being discussed as a new add-on to version 10, things must have changed.

+5 for correcting me Bill, +5 Gordon for nice find.

Your memory is fine. I recall the same statement being made at some partner session. I guess someone, somewhere realized that this should be retrofitted to all versions. Good choice on Cisco's part.
