Changing ephone dn number

Just 2 simple questions this time for the Cisco community

If a cisco ephone-dn number changes, does this affect the phone having to re-register?

And one more please if I may.

Does a DID number have to be the same as the Cisco phone itself?

I think it does as it's purpose is to by-pass the receptionist in the company to go directly to the staff member

Please let me know

Yes, when you change the DN the phone will re-register.

You just need the DID to find the DN, which can be directly mapped or you can add a translation rule that makes the translation for you:
