Changing password

I have just acquired the responsibility of our office phone system. We have a new employee starting work on Monday, and I need to be able to reset the mailbox password on (what will be) her phone.

I reset the phone (7941) to factory defaults, but I still can't get into the mailbox. What is the default password, and how should I proceed from here?

Hi Brittany,

You likely have some sort of voicemail "system" that controls this config.

Can you check into what system you are running...is it router based (Cisco CUE), server based

(Cisco Unity or Unity Connection)? Maybe you are using a UC500 system?

If you can provide that info I'm sure someone here can help you out

We're using Cisco Unity Express v3.1/Call Manager Express vCME 4.1.

Pretty sure we're router based.

I tried that once before, but mistakenly changed "password" instead of "pin."

Everything is taken care of now. Thanks again for the help.
