Got CUCM 6.1.3 with MGCP controlled gateway with access to PSTN.
When I use softphone and g729 codec (marked option optimized for low bandwidth) all calls to PSTN are connected but both way no voice as g729 is a codec.
Tried to use transcoder but still same issue.
How to force CIPC to use different codec on calls to PSTN?

Hi, your CIPC is in your HQ or remote office?
To force to G711 you need to configure a device pool and a region with G711 (within this region) and G7XX (with other regions) and assign this device pool to the CIPC configuracion.
Hope this help

Doesn't matter where is my CIPC. When I use softphone in region where G711 is only codec it use g729 with local gateway when option is marked.
