CIPC -> SIP -> CME

Hi,

Trying to setup a lab scenerio for my CCIE lab exam.

I have a Cisco IP Communicator installed in SIP Mode. (msiexec /i CiscoIPCommunicatorSetup.msi /qb SIP=1).

I have a Cisco 3725 running IOS c3725-adventerprisek9-mz.124-15.T7 in GNS.

I have connected an x lite sip client to "register pool 1" successfully.

I am trying to register the CIPC under "register pool 2" but the phone says "unprovisioned"

Has anyone else been successful in linking CIPC to CME via SIP? is the version of IOS not compatible?

I have heard registeing the type as 7970 has worked for others but not in my environment.

Any help will be appreciated?

Thanks,

Edip,

I dont see CIPC as supported end point both as SCCP or SIP, even in CME 9.0 which is the latest version released. Check here http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/cme90spc.html

CIPC is not supported in SIP mode on CME.

So it can't be part of training or exam.

Thanks guys,

Thats a shame,

I wanted a method to train on sip softkey templates and other sip features without a physical phone.

The xlite and other sip clients do not show softkey templates.

Let me know if you have anything else to add, otherwise thanks for your efforts.
