CIPC - Shared line with hardphone

Just want a confirmation if this is working as designed,

when a dn-8888 is shared line wtih hardphone and CIPC, x8888 rings and the secretary inside the office on hardphone picks it up. The user on the IP Communicator is automatically put on hold.

Can anyone confirm if this is working as designed.

I checked the number of calls allowed are 8 on that line.
