Cisco 2911 VIC2-FXO card is not comming up (No lights) even when i connect the line to it!!

Hi,

We recently purchased  a 2911 for a client and confirmed all basic telephony which is working fine but when i connected the line from the ptsn to the fxo port it didnot go up!! this was before doing any configuration on the voice port

Is this normal or do i have to do any configuration to bring up the voice port? because the extensions surely need to call out and am sure  this ptsn line is functional since am migrating it for a traditional PABX.

Any Ideas to why. please share, am working on  tight timeline here.

Can you see the voice ports? Did you configure "connection plar opx #"?

What DSP's (PVDM2) are currently installed in the 2911?  Remember that these are needed to support in this case a FXO card.

Thanks

Right now am not at customer site but will be posting it soon although i did intercom config only so far.

Any ideas on which type of config is mandatory or specific for the fxo ports to be in production. (like just a quick over view)?

Yes, I can see the voice ports, not yet configured that option.

Could it be why the voice port doesnot come up. (No lights on port)

Thanks

Check to see if you have the voice license bundle for the router.

show license

Index 3 Feature: uck9
Period left: Life time
License Type: Permanent
License State: Active, In Use
License Count: Non-Counted
License Priority: Medium

Without the voice license, no voice ports can be configured on 2900 series routers.

Hi Mark,

Did you resolve this issue?

same issue with me lights not coming up and i can configure voice ports

licenses are ok.

router 2921

 PVDM3-64

VIC2-4FXO

Any idea how to solve this.

Thanks.

Yes Frank

I did, I found out that they dont light but you configure connection plar, and try calling in from out.. it should work, thats how i tested it.

OR configure dial peers and try dialing out, it should work but the ports wont light.!!

Regards

I have setup as follows.

but didn't work.

I can't see any logs when i dialing from outside.

i received ringback tone even port shutdown

and it doesn't show any console messages when i enter shut or noshut on voice port

voice-port 0/1/0
 signal groundStart
 connection plar opx 8508

Thanks
