Cisco 7975G phone doesn't start

Hello,

I wanted to reset a 7975 IP phone to factory defaults. I've followed the instuctions given in  https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-3527 :

  1. Power off the phone.
  2. Hold down the # key.
  3. While holding #, connect an AC adaptor to the phone.
  4. Continue to hold # until the line buttons blink amber.
  5. Release the # key.
  6. Enter 3491672850*#
  7. The lights should change color from amber to red.

After that, the screen is black, all lights are off and nothin happens. Could someone have an idea please?

Its not 3491672850*# but 123456789*0#

Enter 3491672850*#

That's is a complete re-flash of the unit.  This method takes longer.  In some cases, about an hour.

The phone will stay black for a while as I'm sure by now you noticed and is back up. You should avoid using the method you just used and use tge standard factory reset.
