Cisco 9971 and Wireless

Hello,

I have this phone using the latest device pack and Call Manager 7.1.3.10000-11.

The phone has firmware: sip9971.9-0-2.

I'm having problems trying to get wireless to work on the device.  I've enabled it in the call manager under that particular device.  I've also set it to "on" on the phone itself and also set WLAN Sign in Access to "on".  I do not see the wireless signal strength symbol come on though.  I've set up the appropriate SSID and encryption/authentication but still nothing.  I am not seeing access points either on the device.

Any ideas?

Thanks

By any chance do you have any ethernet cable plugged in??

If the answer is yes, unplug it. Notice that you need a power block if you intend to use wireless

Choose the power source for the phone:

Power over Ethernet (PoE)

External power supply

Determines how the phone receives power.

Note The Cisco Unified IP Phone 9971,  when being used in a WLAN environment, requires an external power  supply.
