Cisco 9971 makes cals involuntary

Hi,

We have a lot of 9971 phones installed.Everything is fine.

Just one phone make calls involuntary, without any user, day or night,no matter.

The phone has BLF buttons applied to phone and to ext. modules.

The phone calls one by one all DNs,which is programmed as BLF on the phone.but not on the modules.

For example.

Phone BLF buttons.

1111

1112

1113

The phone periodically calls 1111,1112,continuously and stops suddenly.

Today we've changed the phone to the new one, changed ext. modules also.Few minutes ago we've been informed about same problem-the phone calls himself to BLF assigned DNs.As temporary solution,i've moved all BLFs from phone to module, and now it's ok.

SW ver : 9-3-1-33,    as we have some problems with ver 9-3-4-24.

The previous phone, which we changed was screen corrupt, the phone works, but screen is white blank...

I'm out of adequate technical explanation...

What can you advice?

Thanks.

Hi,

seems to be bug

9971 Phone - Automatic Dial, when press on Edge of Phone Screen frame

CSCue47224

Symptom:
We will see Numbers being dialed out on Speed Dial and Line of the 9971 phone.
Phone keeps autodialing in a loop.
Speed Dial/Number gets highlighted, by itself, as if its being used.

Conditions:
9971 Phones Screen Frame being pressed on Edges
Mostly while Adjusting the Phone Screen

Workaround:
9971 9.3.2 SR1 is on CCO now and available for downloading.
9.3.2 SR1 and above have the fix for this issue.
This S/w fix, filters out the unwanted touches from the edge of the screen

I am seeing this on 9971 devices running sip9971.9-4-1-9.  I have watched the display cycle through the BLF speed dials then stop and dial one.  This happened on a 9971 where the first BLF is the line, the second BLF is set to " Mobility" and the last four have been programmed for internal 5 digit speed dials. I am now testing with the first BLF is the line, the second BLF is set to " Mobility" and the third has an internal 5 digit speed dial.

This was a bug in 9.3.1 and was stated as fixed in 9.3.2. https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuf13779
