Hello everyone!
We start using ELM for Call Manager Licensing and I just can not understand they way it works. I am used to DLUs and can not undertand the new scheme
Just to make is clear:
We have
Enhanced (9.x) - Unified CM Available - 180 Installed
Does it mean we can register 180 IP phones?
And we also have
Used - 8, Required
What is meant by Required?
Thank you!

Hi,
Installed means Total licenses available : 180
Required means Used :8
Unsed means Left or available to be used.
can u share from ELM--monitoring ---Dashboard /License Usage[Chart View] .You need to check the license usage where u get InCompliance status.

Hi,
I think u are using UCL Enhanced licences.180 means you can 180 devices are supported.
required means 180 are total/installed , out of which 8 have been used or required and 172 should ne UNUSED.
can u share the snapshot of license ?

Yes, sure, here are the snapshots
Still not sure what Required is. Is it just used or we require any other licence?

So, Total license 180 means I can register 180 devices?
Used: 8, but we have added 24 phones, why used is just 8?
The first screen shot is Dashboard /License Usage[Chart View] screenshot
Can you pls tell me what Unassigned Devices 24 means on the second screeshot?
And what is Enhanced, Basic and Essential?
Thank you!

No, CUCM 9 with ELM does not track devices directly it tracks users. With Enhanced UCL you can have a single device assigned with user (via device owner ID), with UCL Enhanced PLus 2 devices and with CUWL up to 10 devices.

Did not really understand.. What is Device Owner ID?

Field on the phone config page. For proper license tracking you need to ensure you select the owner of the phone (user) in that field. Otherwise all phones depending on a model will either be tracked and Essential, Basic or Enhanced users.

Ok, got that. This is it says Unassigned devices 24 - it means 24 phones are registered but were not assigned a user ID. Thanks!
If we dont utilize users, and as I can see we have 180 licenses, how many phones can we register?

Used: 8, but we have added 24 phones, why used is just 8?
