Cisco IP Phone 7962

Taking a look at Cisco IP phone's @ a new job.

I've fixed a few things, however, I'm having trouble with this:

The phone's are mostly 7962.  I've updated the phone names from the Device > Phone tab in Cisco Unified CM Administration.  For example, the extension to this room is x511.  So I edited the name, so that my name is listed instead of "Bob Smith."

When you are physically at the phone, it still lists "Bob Smith x511", instead of "Tommy Henly x511" where the lines are listed.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue?  I really appreciate it!

Hey Cat,

Use the Line Text Label under the Directory Number config page for the x511 DN

Line Text Label

#

Use this field only if you do not want the directory number to show on the line appearance. Enter text that identifies this directory number for a line/phone combination.

#

Suggested entries include boss's name, department's name, or other appropriate information to identify multiple directory numbers to secretary/assistant who monitors multiple directory numbers.

#

Setting applies only to the current device unless you check the check box at right (Update Shared Device Settings) and click the Propagate Selected button. (The check box at right displays only if other devices share this directory number.)

Cheers!
