Cisco IP Phone registration issue

HI

We Have CUCM 8.x at the site . recently we observed that lots of IP phones are showing Unregistered.

While investigating we found Soft key template is showing as “ None /Null”

Quite surprising when we are assigning the Soft key template to phones they got registered .

Any one encountered such issue . what could be the reason for it .. if we can stop the re-occurence of this problem in future . Tks

Hi Ravi,

For phone unregistration issues we can start by looking at the phone console logs. However, a parallel packet capture from the IP phone and CUCM ( to which the phone is registered ) is what would really help in nailing the issue. Phone in unregistered state means it has got the IP address, it may be getting unregistered due to network issues like SCCP or TFTP ports being blocked or due to some other routing / firewall issues.
