Waisudin,

Do you have latest firmware in those phones ? If not, please upgrade them & such issues are usually fixed.

Latest firmware can be downloaded from CCO

HTH

GP.

Pls rate helpful posts !!

I have upgraded the phones to the latest sip firmware but the problem was that they failed to connect to Asterisk

Phones are just dummy terminals, so the issue here is not the phones but your call processor.  I suggest you post your question to Asterisk support forums.

HTH,

Hi,

Just to add, Cisco Ip phones are not supported and tested to work with third party PBXs. This may be the reason of misbehaving.

Hi,

They may or may not work.

Cisco do not test there IP phones against third party PBX. We follow SIP RFC standards when we develop the SIP firmware. But as we have not tested it with third party PBX, we can not say why it is not working for some phones.

Hi

For example

If you see release notes of Cisco ip phones it clearly states

SIP Firmware Release 9.2(3) is designed and tested to interoperate with Cisco call control, most notably Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 8.6(1). Although SIP firmware is IETF RFC 3261 compliant, it is not supported by Cisco TAC or Engineering for use with non-Cisco call control systems.
