Cisco Phones ; Is there a way to retrieve serial numbers

I need to be able to retrieve the serial numbers from our Cisco IP phones in order to renew smartnet contracts. Oddly enough there does not seem to be a way to do this very easily (even Cisco's behemouth Ciscoworks will not retrieve serial numbers). Any one have any good ideas? I was thinking there should be a mib or something but not sure where to get that or it's ID. Thanks in advance...

The serial number is available by going to the WEB interface of the phone, but its going to take you a significant time to check them all. Its under Device Information.
