cisco tftp

Hi,

is this right or not:

every time an IP phone reboots or initialize it should contact tftp for two things:

to acquire its conf files

to see if there is a change in load info for this device.

so, if this is true, my question is:

if an IP phone that is already registered with Cisco Callmanager and running (i mean has its config files from first initialization and registration with CCM), when this phone reboots and during this reboot it didn't find a tftp server, what happens?

does it start trying to access a tftp serevr many times and finally when it times out, it uses its last acquired config files, if so, where was these files stored

thanks

if the IP phone is already registered, it'll be registered without tftp server.

so IP phone will commnication as well as.

if the IP phone is try to 4 times and no response, The IP phone is will send the Signal Protocol(SCCP, MGCP, SIP, H.323).

????

Hi msulieman!

sorry about return mail.

The configuration file is stored at Device> Phone> within Callmanager menu.

so u mean that does ip phone starts trying to access a tftp serevr many times and finally when it times out, it uses its last acquired config files, if so, where was these files stored (i mean on the ip phone itself?)

Hi msulieman!

The IP phone is not stored inside itself. it's only have in CallManager.

Thanks & Regards

so why then the ip phone registers and run when the tftp is down during ip phone's reboot process
