Cisco Unity Call Handler direct transfer after greeting, without user input

Hi all,

I have the flowing scenario:

I am creating a call handler to for the service desk, where staff will dial 1000 then he/she will hear a welcome message and will be transferred directly to service desk without any input

Here is what I’ve done:

In CUCM:

  1. Created Route Pattern with EXT#1000 and point "   to the SIP trunk toward CUC
  2. Created line group that contains all service desk agents
  3. Created hunt pilot # 2000 and associated it with the line group in step # 2

In CUC:

  1. Created call handler named ITSD_Direct and applied greeting to it “Welcome to IT service desk, your call will be attended shortly” and gave it EXT 1000
  2. Under transfer Rules -- alternative  I applied Transfer Action to Extension  2000
  3. Under Direct Routing Rules --- Routing Rule Conditions I provided with EXT 1000

Call are getting forwarded the hunt pilot and its ringing to all line group members but I can’t hear the greeting.

I know I am missing something so could you please help me with that.

Thank you in advance.

Hi.

Did you select "My personal recording" under "Callers Hear" on greeting setting?

Can you please download remote port monitoring tool, call the 1000 and post the output?

Hi,

I recently had a similar issue to this, when I looked into it i could see the greeting hadn't saved on CUC, it turned out to be a Java issue, there is a work around for it here;

Yes Carlo,

same is selected but when i dial 1000 there is no greeting and the call is getting forwarded directly to the Hunt pilot

Can you please download remote port monitoring tool, call the 1000 and post the output?

Hi there,

+5 to my friend Carlo for his good ideas here :)

I would use 2 Call handlers to accomplish this. Use the first one for EXT 1000 where the greetings reside & can be easily changed and then use the "After greeting Action" to transfer to the second Call handler. On this one you can set it with no greeting recorded and use the transfer setting (as you noted) to route to the Hunt Group @ 2000.

Cheers!

Rob
