Cisco Unity Connection 8: Difference between Intrasite and Intersite Networking

In Cisco Unity Connection 8, what is the difference between Intrasite and Intersite Networking?

Also, can CUC 7.x and 8.x co-exist?

Re: Cisco Unity Connection 8: Difference between Intrasite and

I believe when you create a location, you can have multiple CUC servers in a intralocation.   When you have multiple locations, this traffic intersite.  Its basically how Unity defines its users and locations and database information for user.  For example, you may have a location that can access the directory in location B, but not location C.

As for CUC 7 and 8 intermingling nicely, they can be on the same network, connected to CUCM, but they cant share directory information. (networking).  Please correct me if Im wrong here anyone.  I recall some caveat that networking will not work.

Cisco Unity Connection 8: Difference between Intrasite and Inte

Hi Everyone,

I know this post is old, but would like to add:

Intrasite= Max 10 locations.

Intersite= Max 20 locations.

Location= Single server, Cluster, or Site.

Site= amount of locations (max 10)

Intersite= Link between two sites.

As per design, only one Intersite is supported.

For better understanding you can check:
