Cisco Unity Connection 9.x server is not part of a cluster

I have a Unity server that was upgraded to 9.X from 7.X it was a single server now I need to make it a cluster and I cannot seem to make it work.

The install of the subscriber fails due to the Publisher being a single server, If I install the HA license will it work?

Hi Miket,

The ordering guide of Messaging says 

There are no separate licenses for Secordary, or High Availability (HA) servers. Both the Primary and the
Secondary will register with a single ELM.

What error message u get while adding SUB?

It says configured first node is not a first node. . I added the subscriber in the publisher.

I created the 9.x from scratch no issues,  When I was given the UNITY that was upgraded from 7.x I fail.

HA is free but don't you need to add it?

While installing secondary/subscriber unity connection server, are you selecting First Node configuration as NO.

Have u added only Publisher in Product Instance in ELM?

Bit confused .

I was refering the licenses portion under th elink

which says that 

A Cisco Unity Connection cluster requires a license for each Connection server. The license that has the MAC address of the publisher server must be installed on the publisher server. The license that has the MAC address of the subscriber server must be installed on the subscriber server.

can u look into this ? Lastly,what is CUCM version u are using.
