CM 5.0.4 backup does not work with SFTP titan server.

Hi!

I can make SFTP upgrades, and backup storage location update also works. But when I do a manual backup it fails. Titan sftp server logs tells me c:\dUmmi_Drf: No such file. Anyone run into this problem.

Thanks,

Mattias

Using core FTp server I cannot get CCm to even update the location page. I see a connection to the SFTP server but CCM says "Update Failed"

I'd like to know wht we cannot just use normal FTP. This would be an ideal solution so we can FTP to a Windows box Say the Unity box and then backup said unity box...

Finally got it working using freeFTPd as the sftp server.

Set path name to . (yes just a single period)

Anything else caused an error "unable to access sftp server".

Only wasted 3 days on this - ARGHH!!!

Manual backup worked fine.

The freeFTPd logfile shows this at start of backup and then CCM uploads and downloads the dUmmI_Drf file and then deletes it ?!?!?

My guess is it's testing connectivity?!?!?

Re: CM 5.0.4 backup does not work with SFTP titan server.

I was going to suggest freeftpd as well. I set my path name to just /

I did setup my user account to have write access to the directory /

So Cisco why is it that we can use normal ftp to install patches from but must use sftp for backup?? Why not give us a choice between the two for both...
