CME 10.0 / Speed dial configuration by user // only SIP Phones

Please let me how the end user can configure Speed dial in CME 10.0.?

The customer only has SIP Phones 89XX configured. Can you explain me or give me an hint how can I configure that ?!

Associate their account with

Associate their account with their phone in CUCM. Make sure their account is a member of the 'Standard CCM End Users' group in CUCM User Management.

So sorry, just realized right after posting that you said CME.
From what I remember, you have to actually create an XML file for defining what options the end-users can access when they go to http://<cme ip>/ccme.html and they log in.
Documentation is a bit weak on it and I couldn't find anything right away.

I tried to add speed dial from 7821 Phone Apps menu but im getting error " Host Not Found ".

Where the other phones 7962 (SIP version) is working fine with no error.

Any idea why im getting Host not found ?

I have CME 10.5 and 7821 SIP firmware is SIP78XX.10.1.1SR1-4

Just wanted to check if you tried adding speed dials from CLI as well and if it worked?

if only 78XX IP phones are giving this Host Not Found error then i suspect the following bug

It requires an upgrade of the phone firmware to 10.2(1.12) or higher.

One of our other site has same cme and 7821 phones. When user press directory button its keep requesting and nothing appear also my phone apps are missing.

i hve verified the ip http config is there, phone firmware and cme version both are same. 

any thought what i am missing ?

 if my understanding is correct, one of your branches has a different behavior comparing the others, am I correct?

 If the answer is Yes, then please double check not only the CME's configuration but also the IP Phone's configuration.

Hi Marcelo, What do you mean by IP Phone's configuration ? are you referring to Voice register dn and pool configuration ? If yes, I have verified and its same.

If the config of working and

If the config of working and non working sites is the same then you can try a factory reset of one of the 7821 if possible and try deleting and readding the config on non working site. Else, you can get the packet capture from the IP phone after pressing directories and post on the forum, a corresponding capture from a working 7821 phone on another site will help.

I just see three TCP packets when i filter with this IP address, so it seems that the request is not even going out from the IP phone for directories. Can you try reconfiguring one of the ip phones or if possible a factory reset and see if any traffic is generated for these functions.

I removed voice register dn

I removed voice register dn and voice register pool then create profile

Than add phone and create profile again.

I tried with factory reset also but couldn't find much communication on wireshark. Every time i press directory button on phone, i see one TCP packet and than all ARP packets.

Attached are the logs after factory reset and re-add phone.

Voice register global
No service https
Create profile
Exit

Voice register pool X

Reset

SIP: Defining Speed-Dial Buttons

To define speed-dial buttons for Cisco SIP IP phones, perform the following steps.

Prerequisites

Cisco CME 3.4 or a later version.

Restrictions

  • Certain SIP IP phones, such as the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7960 and 7940, cannot be configured to enable speed dialing. Phone users with these phones must manually configure speed-dial numbers by using the user interface at their Cisco Unified IP phone.
  • On Cisco Unified IP phones, speed-dial definitions are assigned to available buttons that have not been assigned to actual extensions. Speed-dial definitions are assigned in the order of their identifier numbers.
  • Phones with Cisco ATA devices are limited to a maximum of nine speed-dial numbers. Speed-dial numbers cannot be programmed by using the user interface at the phone.

3. voice register pool pool-tag

4. speed-dial speed-tag digit-string [ label label-text ]
