CME 4.0(3) time display issue

UCBNOCWAN
Level 1
Level 1

Hi,

We are running CME 4.0(3). The 7911 series IP phones are showing incorrect times. Alll other phone models ( 7940) work fine. We tried the time zone command. Upgraded the IOS to 12.4(4)XC7. Nothing helped. Current phone load is SCCP11.7-2-1-0S. This is driving me crazy..

Any suggestions??

Hi UCB,

These Firmware Loads are also available for your CME Version. It is a little hard to find sometimes (about a third of the way down the page) :)

cme-DST-phoneloads.zip

CME-Phone Loads with DST Fix

Contains - 8.0(4)SR2, 7931-8-2-1

Hope this helps!

Hi UCB,

This is likey a Firmware issue on the "Java Based" 7906 IP Phone model. These would be the minimum recommended versions;

Customers who are using the following Cisco Unified IP phone models:

7906

7911

7931

7941

7961

7970

7971-GE

are required to upgrade to the following phone firmware to display the correct time:

* CCME 3.X, 4.0 and 4.0(x) customers need to upgrade the phone load to 8.0(4)SR2.

* CCME 4.1 and 7931 customers need to upgrade the phone load to 8.2(2)SR1.

Hope this helps!

Rob

Rob,

thanks a lot for your reply. But the load mentioned by you seems to be only for Call Manager based phones. We are running CM Express.

Please correct me if I have missed something here.

Thanks & Regaards,

UCB Voice team.

Rob,

Thanks for the suggestion. We are trying to implement this asap & will definitely keep you posted.

This new load has to be first put on the router flash, correct?

Thanks,

Hi Team,

First off you are most welcome! Secondly, (yes the new Firmware will need to be copied onto Flash) Here's how;

SCCP: Upgrading or Downgrading Phone Firmware Between Versions

To downgrade or upgrade firmware versions on a Cisco Unified IP phone running SCCP, perform the following steps.

Prerequisites

Phone firmware for Cisco Unified IP phones to be connected to Cisco Unified CME, including all versions required during an upgrade or downgrade sequence, must be loaded in the ***flash memory of the TFTP server from which the phones download their configuration profiles. For information about installing firmware files in flash memory,

SUMMARY STEPS

1. enable

2. configure terminal

3. telephony-service

4. load phone-type firmware-file

5. create cnf

6. end

2. Download archive.

3. Extract files to be downloaded.

4. Use the copy or archive tar command to copy file to flash memory.

5. Use the show flash: command to list files in flash memory.

DETAILED STEPS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Router# copy tftp://x.x.x.x/P00307020300.sbn flash:

b. If the file is a tar file, use the archive tar command to extract the files to flash memory.

Router# archive tar /xtract source-url flash:/file-url

Step 5 Verify the installation. Use the show flash: command to list the files installed in in flash memory.

Rob,

Thanks a lot. In all probability, the change will be implemented on Monday. Hope to give you some good news then.

Many thanks,

UCB VoIP Team..

Rob,

Just wanted to inform that at last we were able to try out the new 7911 load as suggested by you on the CME router today. And bingo, all's well now. Thanks a ton for helping us to solve such a perpexing issue ( which even an IOS upgrade couldn't fix).

Take care & have a nice day.

Regards,

Abhijit Das.
