CME 8.6 with VG224 hotdial

I am trying to get a plain analog phone to be a "hotdial" type of phone. It is connected to a VG224 and controlled by CME 8.6 on a 3945 router. I've tried the "connection plar xxxx" command on the voice-port of the vg224, but the system seems to ignore it.

Has anyone successfully done this? If so, I would greatly appreciate an example.

Thank you.

Thank you Alex. That looks like exactly what I'm searching for. I will give it a try.

Re:CME 8.6 with VG224 hotdial

All Cisco vg224 voice ports are FXS ports that do not support command ( connection plar) . What you trying to do exactly?

Thank you Saif. I am aware that they are all FXS ports, but I think Alex has come up with the answer.

This is for a phone by an outside parking lot gate that only needs to ring to the security desk.
