CME Call Transfer Issue SIP Trunk

I have a weird issue on a Cisco 2921 router running CME 9.1.

IOS Version: (C2900-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.2(4)M4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

Basically the problem is when you transfer a call the call drops after a few seconds. BUT this only happens when an outbound call is placed!

Call Flow:
Extension 1013 --> Calls 90800123123 --> Transfer call to Ext 1014 the call then drops after a few seconds.

You can sometimes get a few seconds of speech in but then the call drops

If for example 0800 123 123 called Extension 1013 and then transferred the call to ext 1014 the call transfers and works fine.

So transfer work for inbound based calls but not when outbound.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

A SIP trace would be needed, however make sure that you have

voice service voip

no supplementary-service sip moved-temporarily

no supplementary-service sip refer

That is already present under voice service voip.

The TAC Engineer said that during the outbound call transfer the cme sends a sup update message to the trunk provider which is causing it to fail.

During the incoming call that doesnt happen.

I can do a test call and take debugs. debug ccapit inout and debug ccsip call?

Hi,

I have looked at the logs and the problem is how the CCME is trying to perform the transfer. A sip UPDATE method was sent to opensips but their system didnt respond to it..This was sent 4 times..In the past UPDATE/RE-INVITE during call hold/xfer creates issues...

Try and configure mid-call UPDATE consumtion...I an not sure if this will work because it documented to work between a sip to sip CUBE
