hi,
not an expert here but I've manged to configure a 2811 with cme, cue and I can give a voicemail box to each of my cisco voip phones.
now I've installed an analog phone on an fxs interface. the phone works but from the cue gui I can't create a voicemail for this analog phone.
can this be done? can someone give me a pointer or an example?
my main config for the fxs in cme is this,
voice-port 0/2/1
cptone CA
description *** HOME PHONE ***
station-id name Pat
station-id number 41250
caller-id enable
dial-peer voice 32 pots
description *** HOME PHONE ***
destination-pattern 41250
port 0/2/1
no sip-register
dial-peer voice 3004 voip
description *** HOME DID (xxx) xxx-xxxx ***
translation-profile incoming HOME_CALLED_1
voice-class codec 1
session protocol sipv2
session target sip-server
incoming called-number 5556667777
dtmf-relay rtp-nte
ip qos dscp cs5 media
ip qos dscp cs4 signaling
no vad
voice translation-profile HOME_CALLED_1
translate called 40
voice translation-rule 40
rule 1 /5556667777/ /41250/
now when I go under cue GUI in cue 7.1 I see nothing allowing me to setup a voicemail for my home analog phone.
can you give me a code example in the CLI or screenshots in the gui either way will work for me.
thank you!!

Hello Pam
To configure voicemail for analog phones ie FXS port, you need to register the FXS using sccp/skinny with CME first.
Here is sample config
Here's an example config for your reference :
stcapp ccm-group 1
stcapp
voice-port 0/0/0 <----------------------- FXS port !!!!!!!!!
sccp local GigabitEthernet0/0 <---- u can use FE or VLAN as well
sccp ccm 10.0.10.1 identifier 1 <--- IP source address (under telephony-service)
sccp
sccp ccm group 1
bind interface GigabitEthernet0/0 <----u can use Vlan or FE to match with above
associate ccm 1 priority 1
Define one dialpeer for each FXS port as following:
dial-peer voice 10000 pots
service stcapp
port 0/0/0
Define the ephone-dn for FXS port (one for each port)
ephone-dn 1 dual-line
number 1234
name DK-Analog-FXS
call-forward busy XXXX <----------- XXXX is the vmail pilot
call-forward noan XXXX timeout 10
Define ephone for the FXS port :
ephone 1
username "fxs1" password cisco
mac-address 360C.6BD8.0000 (to Find mac-address)
type anl
button 1:45
To find the mac address for FXS, either use "sh stcapp device voice-port x/y/z command (last 12 chars in Device Name field) or run "debug ephone reg" to see what is the mac.
and eventually you will be able a mailbox for the fxs extn on the CUE.

the phone does not have lights.
on the analog phone when there is a message in unity(voicemail) on the phone is says 'new voicemail' so I go and listen to the voicemail and then delete it.
but on the phone it still says 'new voicemail' so the new voicemail message on the analog phone does not go away.
the only way is to directly on the phone go in the analog phone settings using the phone buttons and CLEAR the message indicator and then it goes away.
I wonder if there is a way for the phone to know that there is no more messages in unity.

for an analog phone to say on the screen (new voicemail) and clear the message when there is no new voicemail
do I need to have MWI: enabled and vmwi: on or just vmwi: on is enought?
if I need mwi: Enable how would I enable it?
I tried this but I still see mwi: disable.
voice-port 0/2/1
mwi
cptone CA
timeouts ringing infinity
description *** HOME PHONE ***
station-id name home phone
station-id number 41250
caller-id enable
01-13-2014 07:51 AM
just to add,
wmi: disabled
vmwi: off
it means there is nothing or no voice mail and that the analog phone is not getting vmwi from the phone system,
I just called home left a message and I got this,
mwi: ENABLE
vmwi: ON
my problem remains, when I delete the voice message from unity, on the anlog phone the message (new voicemail) remains it doesn't go away on its own anything I can do to fix this?

Just try configure this, give it try and check if its work.
#stcapp supplementary-services

mwi audiable is not there...
this is all I have,
RTR(config-stcapp-suppl-serv-port)#?
Select supp features configuration commands:
default Set a command to its defaults
exit Exit from configuring supp services features
hold-resume Enable hold-resume supp services when controlled by CUCM and in
feature mode
no Negate a command or set its defaults
Cisco IOS Software, 2800 Software (C2800NM-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(24)T8

I am not sure why it does not show up there, accroding to the configuration guide it does shows up
Note This document does not contain details about configuring Cisco Unified Communications Manager or Cisco Unified CME. See the documentation for these products for installation and configuration instructions.
To enable any of the MWI options, perform the following steps:
1. enable
2. configure terminal
3. stcapp supplementary-services
4. port port-number
5. mwi {audible | visible | both}
6. end
May be i am missing something , let see if anyone can answer this thread
