CME set-up

Hi Guru,

Am going to set-up a small office who wants to run IP Tel about 20 user.

I will be using CISCO 2811 Voice Bundle w/ PVDM2-16,FL-CCME-36,SP Serv,64F/256D

with VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE Two-port Voice Interface Card - BRI (NT and TE) to run Call Manager Express. and plan to install 20 IP phones of CISCO7941 model.

I am not going to use seperate hardware i.e. MCS/Applience because of budget constraint.

My question is, do i still need a voice gateway ? any model you may suggest ?

Is it possible for me to configure my Cisco 2811 as a voice gateway as well?

As much as possible I want my cisco 2811 to run as a voice gateway and CME at the same time.

I would appreciate your comment.

Thanks

Jeric

Re: CME set-up

Hi Jeric,

Since you have the Voice Bundle already, you should be good to go. May I recommend using QCT to do the initial install and configuration for your CME system?

Information on QCT:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps4625/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a00804f054d.html

QCT download:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cme-qct

QCT is a tool that can help you quickly setup your new CME system. It has the capability to auto-detect the onboard hardware.

Tony

Re: CME set-up

You don't need anything else, the CME router does everything. Actually, for just 20 phones, you could use a 2801 as well. If you have an operator, check out the new phone 7931G that as has the needed monitor buttons and comes at a good price. When you will install, in case you run into difficulties, search the forum here as many answer are been given already.
