CME - SIP Trunk - Nortel

Hello

All our PSTN & DID/DOD lines from provider are  terminated on Nortel CS 1000E. I need to build a SIP Trunk between CME  and Nortel PBX.

Link provided by nortel engineer is between CUCM  & Nortel, dont see any link for CME. Anyone aware then please share  the link

Here is link between CUCM & Nortel

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/pbx/interop/notes/523948nt.pdf

Thanks

Anthony

Use this link as a reference.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/solutions/collateral/ns340/ns414/ns728/ns829/795623.pdf

It may not be your exact version numbers etc

But the general info will be good

CME - SIP Trunk - Nortel

Hi Alex

Thanks for sharing the link. The information is good in the document. I am not clear on the exact command needed to establish a SIP trunk between CME & Nortel

I see only these commands some what related to SIP

voice service voip

qsig decode

allow-connections h323 to h323

allow-connections h323 to sip

allow-connections sip to h323

allow-connections sip to sip

supplementary-service h450.12

h323

sip

registrar server

It depends on what the CME is running

In the example quoted in the pdf the CME is running:-

SCCP phones

SIP phones

FXS as SCCP

PRI T1

For this intergration they definitely need

voice service voip

qsig decode

allow-connections h323 to sip

allow-connections sip to h323

allow-connections sip to sip

supplementary-service h450.12

h323

sip

registrar server

Putting all the config in is a blanket to catch any future

devices, links that may be added.

If all your CME phones are SIP and all calls in/out are to be via SIP

dial peers then you only need to add

!

voice service voip

allow-connections sip to sip

sip

registrar server

!

CME - SIP Trunk - Nortel

Thanks Alex.

CME---------------------SIP-Trunk------------------------Nortel

Here is the infrastructure

CME = 172.16.16.5

Nortel PBX = 172.18.18.150

There is IP reachability between both the boxes.

I dont see the sample configuration(URL you referred) any SIP configuration where it points to Nortel IP except these commands

voice service voip

qsig decode

allow-connections h323 to sip

allow-connections sip to h323

allow-connections sip to sip

supplementary-service h450.12

h323

sip

registrar server

I understood the Dial-peer pointing to the Nortel IP as 'Session Target'  nothing more than this??

In Nortel I see these steps created

1) a rule created as SIP and pointing to CME IP as SIP Trunk

2) Allowed Codecs

3) negotiation allowed SIP - to - SIP

4) configuration for Dial-peer < pointing CME IP to reach extension 500 - 599 >

I am still lacking to understand the CME part for SIP

thanks

CME - SIP Trunk - Nortel

Anthony

Basically this has turned on SIP

!

voice service voip

allow-connections sip to sip

sip

registrar server

!

The dial peer below instructs that calls using this DP are SIP

!

dial-peer voice 2300 voip

description dial peer digital toward Nortel SIP

translation-profile incoming voip

destination-pattern 232.

rtp payload-type cisco-codec-fax-ind 98

rtp payload-type nte 96

voice-class codec 1

voice-class sip g729 annexb-all

session protocol sipv2

session target ipv4:172.30.11.100

session transport tcp

incoming called-number ....

dtmf-relay sip-notify

fax-relay ecm disable

no vad

There is not much more to the basics
