CME-SRST license state not changing to Active even after accepting EULA Agreement

I have a  CISCO2901/K9 running IOS version 15.1(4)M1. Below is the show license detail for the cme-srst feature and the license state doesnt change to Active even if I have accepted the EULA as per this document.  Router log shows that EULA has been accepted but still showing the same output. I have another router with the same hardware and software and didnt have this problem. Could this be a bug on this IOS? or is there a way to activate the cme-srst license?

Hi,

Can you look at post

https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3500384#3500384

Your license will change after the evaluation period has expired automatically

Alex,

Had checked those and the first step for the eval period to start ticking is to accept the EULA. We have done that but we are still seeing that the EULA hasnt been accepted. Will try to reload the router - as suggested by Paolo (thought not in the documentation and we didnt have to on the other router) and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks....

reload router.

Paolo,

Though that was not on the documentation in activating the feature, we will try to reload it and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks....

Hi Chris,

Just looking at your IOS version is it possible you are seeing

this new behavior?

Activating an Evaluation License

Note Starting with Cisco IOS Releases 15.0(1)M6, 15.1(1)T4, 15.1(2)T4, 15.1(3)T2, and 15.1(4)M, Evaluation licenses are replaced with Evaluation Right To Use licenses. Evaluation Right to Use licenses automatically become Right to Use licenses after the initial evaluation period. Follow the steps detailed in this section to activate an Evaluation Right to Use license.

To activate an evaluation license in the Cisco 3900 series, 2900 series, and 1900 series routers, perform the steps detailed in this section. Evaluation licenses are activated using the license boot module module-name technology-package package-name command.

SUMMARY STEPS

1. enable

2. configure terminal

3. license boot module module-name technology-package package-name

4. exit

5. reload

DETAILED STEPS

Command or Action
Purpose

Step 1

enable

Example:

Router>enable

Enables privileged EXEC mode.

Enter your password if prompted.

Step 2

configure terminal

Example:

Router#configure terminal

Enters global configuration mode.

Step 3

license boot module module-name technology-package package-name

Example:

Router(config)#license boot module c3900  technology-package securityk9

Enables the evaluation license.

Use the ? command with the module command to see the module name for your router, and with the technology-package command to see the software packages and features supported on your router.

Step 4

exit

Example:

Router(config)#exit

Exits global configuration mode.

Step 5

reload

Example:

Router#reload

Reloads the router. A reload is required to activate the software package.

From the doc you linked.

Cheers!

Rob

Rob,

I have seen that documentation and CME-SRST will be in the UC technology package right? This is the output of the technology package license info on the device and there it shows that uc is already permanent and by just accepting the EULA, the evaluation license will kick in and becomes a permanent one after that. But we are not seeing that. However, we will try to reload the router to see if it makes it any difference.

Technology Package License Information for Module:'c2900'

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Technology    Technology-package           Technology-package
              Current       Type           Next reboot
------------------------------------------------------------------
ipbase        ipbasek9      Permanent      ipbasek9
security      None          None           None
uc            uck9          Permanent      uck9
data          None          None           None

Thanks....

chris

Hi,

Were you able to fix this?

I've a client who upgraded Cisco 3845 to 15.1(4) M2 and SRST works fine without accepting EULA or disabling new Toll Fraud prevention feature but stopped working on 3945 when upgraded to same IOS version.

Anyone???

Thanks,

Kapil

Hi,

The 3800 is an ISRG1 type router. The license does not affect these on Ver 15.

The 3900 an ISRG2 it requires the the license & EULA agrrement

Hi Alex,

Cool, I was checking the following document which said EULA is required on both ISRs i.e. G1 and G2 but thanks for clarifying.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios-xml/ios/csa/command/csa-l1.html#GUID-75F522CF-FB9C-4874-B79A-C1D6D822D279

I'll give it a shot.

thanks,

Kapil
