Codec mismatch outgoing calls CUCM

Hi,

In CUCM 7.0 i configured one Device Pool with  one  Region codec IntraRegion G729 and InterRegion 729.

I configured that device pool in sip trunk and IP phones. Also in SIP trunk i choose MTP required and MTP prefered originated codec G729/G729a.

I have configured IOS MTP and Xcode  in Cube and i can receive incoming calls and i see in cube that MTP is used.

But  when i try to make outbond calls i see in cube the following error VOICE_IEC-3-GW: SIP: Internal Error (180, codec mismatch): IEC=1.1.278.7.104.0 on callID 2953 GUID=CC56E7AF147 ) and call fails.

I think CUCM triyng to use G729 instead of G729a. is possible to force that in CUBE ou CUCM?

Any ideas why outgoing call could be failling?

In outgoing calls which region setting force codec is intracodec or intercodec of device pool of ip phones?

In cube i have applied to dial-peers:

voice class codec 1

codec preference 1 g729r8

codec preference 2 g729br8

codec preference 3 g711alaw

codec preference 4 g711ulaw

And also configured:

!

dspfarm profile 1 mtp

  codec pass-through

codec g729ar8

codec g729r8

maximum sessions software 100

associate application SCCP

!

dspfarm profile 4 transcode

codec g711ulaw

codec g711alaw

codec g729ar8

codec g729abr8

codec g729br8

codec g729r8

maximum sessions 21

associate application SCCP

Best Regards

Codec mismatch outgoing calls CUCM

make sure you have an inbound dial-peer for calls coming from CUCM to the CUBE to enforce or negotiate the codec using the codec class

lets say your CUCM extensions number are in the range of 100 to 199

create a voip dialpeer just for enforcing the codecx

dial-peer voice 80 voip

session protocol sipv2

answer-address 1..

voice-class codec 1

also you can try to uncheck MTP required as well

hope this help

Codec mismatch outgoing calls CUCM

Hi,

Outgoing calls is matching  incoming dial-peer (2) in cube that is thte dialpeer to CUCM when i receive an incoming call. Provider is sending Full  Number as DDI. should i create a new dial-peer as you suggestted or i can put answer-adress in this dial-peer 2 voip? Also answer address for extension number or full External number?

dial-peer voice 1 voip

description Outgoing to Provider

translation-profile outgoing remove_zero

destination-pattern 0T

voice-class codec 1

session protocol sipv2

session target ipv4:X.X.X.X (ip address provider)

session transport udp

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

ip qos dscp af41 signaling

no vad

dial-peer voice 2 voip

destination-pattern 2........

voice-class codec 1

  session protocol sipv2

session target ipv4: X.X.X.X  (Callmanager ip address)

session transport tcp

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

ip qos dscp af41 signaling

no vad

Codec mismatch outgoing calls CUCM

you can make the dial-peer as incoming voip dial-peer for CUCM calls to CUBE

the answer-address has to match the calling number of the phones as they reach the gateway

if they reach the gateway as 2........ then put like this

if they reach the gateway as the full e164 format then put the patterns like this

you confirm by debugging voip dial-peers and see how the number looks like when it reach the gateway from CUCM

hope this help
