Hi,

Can 7911's start the call with G729 directly without a transcoder or does it need a transcoder for starting g729 calls?

Whenever 2 endpoints support natively G729 there is no need to use an XCODER for the call

ok then another question comes;

ServiceProviderGW----HQ----GW====GW---Branch

Can I make the branch ip phones talk G729 from the link which goes to the HQ, and then when they reach there turn them to g711 and then goes to the Service ProviderGW with g711... Is it possible ?

configure the GWs i point in different regions and have them talk G711 to do that
