Hi
I bought 4 Cisco IP Phones CP7942G for use with an Asterisk server using SIP, as i don't have Calllmanager and have an existing Asterisk setup.
I know this has been discussed many times, but i am finding it very hard to find an easy consistent way to convert my
Cisco IP Phone CP7942G from SCCP to SIP.
That said i am sure the path is probably not easy
Every where i look there is always this reference to downloading firmware P0SXXXX.bin (XXXX relating to version).
When i go to the Cisco download website and download the Cisco SIP firmware for my Phone (i have SCCP 42.9-0-2SR2), i am presented with 2 options:
cmterm-XXXXX.cop.sgn - which from my reading appears to be for installation from Callmanager, i do not have this.
cmterm-XXXXX.zip - which from my reading should be possible to load onto an IP phone using a tftp server.
When i extract the files, there is not .bin file and no P0SXXXXX named files at all
So on reading any of the many tutorial's the Internet has to offer, i usually fail at he first hurdle, in that i do not have the files mentioned (.bin or PS0).
Any help and guidance would be much appreciated.
Regards
Chris
