Hello Everyone,
My co-worker and I have been trying to convert Cisco 7961 phone over to the SIP protocol to use with a open source call manager. On a windows 7 machine, we have TFTPD32 setup (version 3.23) for DHCP for 192.168.1.1 network. Starting IP at .100. Additonal Option set at 150 0x0101A8C. In settings TFTP and DHCP Server are checked. DHCP Options has Bind DHCP to this address (192.168.1.1).
I am using the cmterm-7941_7961-sip.8-2-2SR3 firmware to try to get the phone to go to SIP so I can upgrade it higher. However, when I set the phone to factory reset. It pulls an IP 192.168.1.100. It looks like it is trying to download the 'term61.default.loads' firmware. However, the screen would flash for a split second and I can see 'error' on the phone display and it tries one more time. I get the same error and it goes to "CISCO Copyright 2002-2007 Cisco Systems, Inc." with a Java logo and a bullseye.
Has anyone ran into this issue before?

What files do you have in your TFTP server?

The files that I have are:
apps41.8-2-2ES4.sbn
cnu41.8-2-2ES4.sbn
cvm41sip.8-2-2ES4.sbn
dsp41.8-2-2ES4.sbn
jar41sip.8-2-2ES4.sbn
SIP41.8-2-2SR.3s.loads
term41.default.loads
term61.default.loads.
I understand its an older version of the SIP firmware, but I was double checking to make sure it could update and the original plan was to get it to SIP then apply the SIP updates as needed. So far it hasn't worked out so far.

Ok, if you're trying to load SIP v8.2 then you're missing a lot more files.
Where is the "OS97XX.TXT"? Can you attach the the MACaddress.xml file?
