Converting Hex to String on Dial-peer Level for SIP Parameters

Hi All,

Is there any command in the Voice Gateway to accomplish the below task.

When the Call hits in the CUBE and when matches the Incoming Dial-Peer and we see the below UUI header information in the SIP INVITE

User-to-User: 30303931323436;encoding=hex

When the call goes out thru the Outbound Dial-peer, is there a way i can convert this back to String.

Have anyone tried this via Sip Normalization. Can someone give me a clue.

Regards,

Senthil

That cannot be done, because standard dictates no other encoding option than 'hex'.

Hi Paolo,

Thanks for the information. I have referred this RFC. But is there any other way i can accomplish this.

I would be sending this info to a Contact Centre Environment(CVP Component or a Cisco Sip Proxy Server).

Senthil

And what is that you want to accomplish ?

When the SIP Invite passes to the next hop, the value should be converted from

User-to-User: 30303931323436;encoding=hex

to

User-to-User: 091246

Senthil

As answered above already:

per draft standard, that is not allowed.

You can read the standard  youself:

If the "encoding" parameter is not present, "hex" MUST be assumed.
