CP-6921 cannot register with CM7.1.5?

Hi all,

New to this forum here.

I have the problem with registering 6921 to our call manager, it's not getting ip address from DHCP, however, another phones like 7945, 7942, 7962 have no problem what so ever...

Workarounds I've tried were manually putting static ip address or change the port mode to trunk, then the phone works fine, however it's not the permanent solution.

If someone had the similar problem and let me know what's your solution will be much appreciated!

Hi Eric,

the SCCP image 9.0.3.0 is a deferred release.

Try uploading the latest image 9.3(3)SR1 on one of the phones and check.

Hi,

If the firmware upgrade doesn´t solve the issue, make sure you are pointing the IP phone to the correct DHCP server. You can span a switchport on the switch you are connecting the device, to get a packet capture. That will let you know what the phone is receiving when it´s sending the DHCP request. It may be a vlan configuration error on the switchport.

Here you have another thread where they explain how to span a switchport:
