CP-7942G with SIP Load 9.0(3) Handset sound is not that great

Customer is testing CallManager 8.0(3a) with two CP-7942G phones running G.722.  If they use the speakerphone they said it sounds great, but when picking up the handset it sounds bad, like other side is far away.

Wonder if this is a SIP 9.0(3) load bug?

Going onsite next Wednesday to see this for myself -jason

Hi Jason,

I have not heard of any issues with that load on the 79x2,x5 phones but I will attempt to run a quick test in the lab to check it out tomorrow.  One thing to keep in mind is that users not used to the sound of audio with g.722 are sometimes not impressed with the sound of the codec because of the traditional audio quality on a phone call.

Just something to keep in mind.  I will let you know what I see in my recreate.
